This qualification provides a pathway to work in organisations such as restaurants, hotels, clubs, pubs, cafes and coffee shops, or to run a small business in these sectors. In short, this course will provide students with:

  • Training and skills development in Commercial Cookery

  • A specific overview of Commercial Cookery methods, preparation of food and kitchen management
  • Basic skills and knowledge for entry into the hospitality industry as a chef

Pathways from this qualification:

After achieving SIT40516 – Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, individuals could progress to SIT40616 Certificate IV in Catering Operations or SIT40716 Certificate IV in Patisserie or the SIT50416 Diploma of Hospitality Management.
